Description:
This home movie from El Paso captures scenes of a Quinceañera, her court, and her family taking part in the celebration's ceremony and reception. A quinceañera, also called a fiesta de quince años, is the celebration of a girl's 15th birthday in Mexican and other Latin-American cultures. This birthday marks the girl's transition from childhood to womanhood and is celebrated with a Catholic ceremony and large reception where the girl wears a formal gown, takes mass, performs a traditional waltz, and toasts champagne with her family and friends.
