Description:
This home movie of the 1980 Texas Girl Chili Cook-off held in Rosenberg, opens with a few attendees testing their skills on a mechanical bull. Also captured are shots of the (sometimes bawdily behaved) crowd and a dramatic sky. The Frick Collection was donated to TAMI by John Frick and includes home movies of family Christmases, camping trips, and outings in Houston, as well as trips to local Texas events, including the Belton Parade, Howdy Roo Chili Cookoff, Mosquito Festival, Texas Renaissance Fair, Montgomery County Cookoff, Texas Girl Chili Cookoff, and the Westheimer Art Festival.
