Unit camps in field. Eating at table in field, setting up generator, setting up tents, writing home, boxing up souvenirs, kegs of beer come in. 12:26:16 Nuremberg Stadium, WS. (May 29 sent to Le Havre, France), Red Cross entertainment in field, canteen serves donuts.;Left France on former cruise ship "Brazil", shots on deck. 12:31:00 (dawn views?) Arrive New York City harbor, view of Statue of Liberty, people waving, skyline. POV of NYC skyline soft against pinkish-gray sky, presumably dawn. 12:32:37 Uniformed men disembark.;12:32:53 Refugees on road with bicycles and loaded carts. Field along road. MS Russian and Polish workers just released (DPs) in Germany, makeshift camps, food cooking, CU of women. Women and small child living in trench being surveyed by American soldier. MS refugees moving through city streets, large mass of displaced civilians clog road in Sudeten region as Czechs forced Germans out. LS camp set up in tree lined field. People in this camp. People set up camp at railroad station waiting for train going in direction they wanted. People in station and people resting on pavement just next to tracks. Women washing their feet. Red Cross soup kitchen in railroad car at Pilsen station to feed DPs including children, waiting in line for food
